Northern Trust Appoints Wim van Ooijen to Lead its Swiss Business

Wim Van Ooijen is currently country head for Northern Trust in the Netherlands and Germany. He retains his existing responsibilities until a replacement for the Netherlands business is found.

As Northern Trust broadens its market reach across Europe, it announced that it has appointed Wim van Ooijen, to lead its business activities in Switzerland. Van Ooijen is currently country head for Northern Trust in the Netherlands and Germany.

Reporting to Clive Bellows, head of Global Fund Services, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and effective immediately, van Ooijen will be responsible for Northern Trust’s business in Switzerland, retaining his existing responsibilities for Northern Trust’s German office. He will continue to oversee Northern Trust’s Netherlands business until a replacement is announced.

“We are pleased to announce Wim’s expanded responsibilities in support of our continuing focus on growing our European franchise,” said Clive Bellows. “His range of experience and European market expertise will ensure we are best placed to cater to our European clients’ specific requirements.”

Van Ooijen joined Northern Trust in 2004. Before becoming country head for Northern Trust in the Netherlands 2010, he was head of the asset servicing business’ relationship management team based in Amsterdam. Prior to that, he was a senior relationship manager in the Dutch team based in London and subsequently in Amsterdam.
