Investment boutique J O Hambro Capital Management (JOHCM) has recruited analyst support to its two separate emerging markets equities teams in order to promote further growth in the company's EM strategies.
Ada Chan is moving internally to join JOHCM's London-based Global Emerging Markets Opportunities team, supporting fund managers James Syme and Paul Wimborne. Chan joins from JOHCM's Prague-based Global Emerging Markets team, for which she currently serves as an analyst.
Prior to joining JOHCM, Ada spent three years at GMO LLC as an Investment Analyst for the UK. She previously worked at Baring Asset Management (Baring) for eight years as an Equity Research Analyst in London and in Boston. At Baring, Ada led the Global Consumer Discretionary Sector team and actively participated in the US and Global portfolio decision-making process. Prior to 2000, she worked as an International Management Trainee and Equity Research Intern at State Street Corporation and Salomon Smith Barney respectively. Ada holds a MSc in Computer Information Systems and BA in Business Administration, both from Boston University.
Chan is being replaced on the JOHCM Global Emerging Markets team by Ladislav Sabo, who is currently employed as a risk manager for the Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation in Prague. Sabo is a CFA holder and holds a Master's degree from the University of Economics, Prague. Sabo will conduct stock analysis for the Prague-based team and will start at JOHCM in early July.
