Fundamental Principles of ESG Investing
Building on industry practice and recent academic insights, this Master Class will provide a high-level overview of the fundamental principles of ESG investing in liquid asset classes, such as listed equities and corporate bonds.
The Master Class will discuss currently available data and implementation approaches and discuss both opportunities and shortcomings of current practice. We will also discuss recent regulatory developments. Overall, the master class aims to equip banking and finance professionals with up to date and relevant high-level knowledge about ESG investing. Specific learning objectives are:
- Becoming familiar with basic ESG investing terminology and different ESG implementation approaches, including the motivation behind different approaches
- Understanding the risk/return, asset universe and impact implications of different ESG implementation approaches
- Being able to identify and discuss current shortcomings/challenges relating to available ESG data and ESG implementation approaches
